Eureka!

Well, if you’re reading this i’ve got great news. It Worked! Not that you’d know if it didnt, but if everything went well the scheduled post feature should’ve auto-posted this blog for 11:55AM, 9/5/2024. This means my blog should be fully running!

Now for the meat and potatoes of todays Blog. Names. More specifically, mine!

Cool right? Yea, I thought so too. Anywho, I made this little doodad for my Typography 1 course and i figured id talk about how it was made.

Starting off, type my name. Next, we use Adobe Illustrators vintage 3D effects and Bevel tool to make it nice and thick. Adjust until happy, then apply. Next up, a simple Arc Warp. This gives it that cool superhero look. Now, we need to convert it to a shape.

From there, select the faces of the letters using direct selection and color them White. Select the backside 3d parts and make them black. Select the faces again, and offset the outlines. Make it so its all neatly inset by a comfy margin. Add a gradient to the fill of the newly inset face, then use the Pixilate -> Halftone effect on it.

And Viola! You are now as cool as I. Use this power wisely my fellow superhero.
